Justin Gignac sells "limited edition garbage" for $100. When Gignac first packaged garbage he collected from the streets of New York City inside a lucite cube a few years ago, it was based on the question of whether packaging matters. With 1000s of cubes sold and a price increase of 1000%, I think the answer is clear. It is nothing short of ingenious recontextualization as ideas of scarcity, marketing, and labor are brought into focus. Regardless of the content, these cubes are actually quite beautiful.

I wouldn't mind getting one as a holiday gift this year.
