The "Flock House" was conceived by Mary Mattingly, an artist that crosses boundaries between performance, sculpture, architecture and documentation. Inspired by global human migration, immigration and pilgrimage, these modular and sustainable sculptural habitats are designed to be moveable, expandable and able to attach to one another and to surrounding architecture.

To prepare for the project’s public launch in May 2012, Mattingly will live in and build one of the units at Eyebeam Art and Technology Center in New York from March 1 to April 7. An opening reception will be held on March 15.
